🌙 The Nourished Letter

August 2026

Living in rhythm with yourself, your home, and the seasons.

Hello, beautiful. 🤍

Welcome to this month’s Nourished Letter.

Here in North Florida, late summer has a personality all its own.

The days are hot and muggy, the thunderstorms seem to arrive right on schedule, and if you’ve stepped outside lately, you’ve probably noticed how alive everything feels.

Even my little garden.

To be completely honest… it’s mostly weeds. 😂

There are a few flowers blooming, herbs scattered here and there, and this year I successfully grew potatoes—which honestly felt like a small miracle.

I’m learning that gardens don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.

Maybe we’re a little like that too.

As August unfolds, we’re standing in one of those in-between seasons. The last weeks of summer carry a certain nostalgia. Children are getting ready to head back to school. Morning routines are beginning to shift. We’re savoring the sweetness of peaches, pineapples, fresh herbs, and long evenings while quietly preparing for the rhythms that autumn will bring.

Nature never rushes from one season to the next.

It eases us there.

I think we’re invited to do the same.

This month, the skies reflect that beautiful transition. Between the bold heart-opening energy of Leo, the grounding lessons of Saturn, and the beginning of eclipse season, we’re being asked to step into a new version of ourselves—not all at once, but one intentional choice at a time.

So pour yourself something nourishing, settle in, and let’s spend a little time together.

🌙 Living in Rhythm with the Sky

August carries two very different energies.

One asks us to dream bigger.

The other asks us to become disciplined enough to hold those dreams.

Both are equally important.

☀️ Sun & Jupiter in Leo

Expanding the Heart

This month the Sun joins Jupiter in Leo, creating one of the brightest and most heart-centered energies of the year.

Leo is the sign of creativity, courage, joy, generosity, and authentic self-expression.

Jupiter expands whatever it touches.

Together they remind us that we weren’t meant to hide our gifts.

They ask us to become a little more courageous.

A little more visible.

A little more ourselves.

This energy isn’t about becoming louder.

It’s about becoming more honest.

Maybe honesty looks like finally sharing your artwork.

Maybe it means speaking your truth.

Maybe it means allowing yourself to dream about a life you’ve secretly wanted for years.

Leo reminds us that joy is not selfish.

Joy is medicine.

Ask yourself this month:

✨ What part of me has been waiting for permission to be seen?

🪐 Saturn’s Quiet Wisdom

Building the Life You Keep Dreaming About

While Leo inspires us to dream, Saturn reminds us that dreams become reality through devotion.

Saturn governs discipline. Consistency. Responsibility. Boundaries. Patience. Perseverance. Long-term vision.

It isn’t glamorous.

It doesn’t promise overnight success.

Instead, Saturn quietly asks:

What are you willing to show up for every day?

This year Saturn is moving through Aries, a sign that naturally wants to move quickly, take bold action, and leap toward new beginnings. Saturn, however, prefers careful planning, structure, and earned progress. Because of that contrast, this placement can feel uncomfortable. You may notice tension between wanting immediate change and realizing that meaningful growth asks for steady effort over time.

I actually find this combination encouraging.

It’s a reminder that enthusiasm is wonderful—but discipline is what allows our dreams to take root.

The life you’re imagining isn’t built in one extraordinary day.

It’s built through hundreds of ordinary ones.

The meals you cook. The walks you take. The promises you keep to yourself. The boundaries you finally honor.

These are Saturn’s quiet victories.

🌑 New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo

August 12

This month’s New Moon arrives as a Solar Eclipse in Leo, making it one of the most significant turning points of the year. A New Moon always marks a beginning, but an eclipse has a way of amplifying that beginning, often bringing unexpected insights, opportunities, or shifts in direction. Many astrologers see eclipses as moments when life seems to gently nudge us toward a path that’s more aligned with who we’re becoming.

Because this eclipse falls in Leo, the invitation is deeply personal.

It asks us to reclaim the parts of ourselves we’ve hidden out of fear, doubt, or habit.

Where have you been shrinking yourself?

Where have you been waiting for someone else’s approval?

What would your life look like if you trusted your own light?

🌒 Eclipse Season

Walking Between Chapters

Eclipse season doesn’t begin and end in a single day.

Think of it as a bridge.

The Leo Solar Eclipse on August 12 opens a new chapter centered around identity, creativity, and courageous self-expression. Later in the month, the Pisces Lunar Eclipse shifts the focus toward release, intuition, healing, and surrender. Together they create a powerful rhythm: first, we’re invited to envision who we’re becoming; then, we’re encouraged to let go of what no longer belongs in that future.

Sometimes eclipse season changes external circumstances.

Other times it quietly changes us.

Either way, trust what is unfolding.

Not everything needs to make sense immediately.

✍️ Practice of the Month

Automatic Writing

One practice that has become incredibly healing for me is something beautifully simple: automatic writing.

When my thoughts begin looping, when emotions feel tangled, or when I find myself carrying the same worries over and over, I sit down with a notebook or my laptop and simply begin writing.

No editing. No judgment. No trying to sound wise.

Just letting the words move from my mind onto the page.

I’ve learned that thoughts held only in our minds can begin to feel louder and heavier than they truly are. Writing them down changes something. It gives those thoughts somewhere to go. It creates space—space for clarity, for peace, and for new perspectives to emerge.

There is something profoundly healing about witnessing your own words on paper.

This month, I invite you to set a timer for 10 minutes.

Write without stopping. Don’t worry if it makes sense. Don’t censor yourself.

Simply let your inner voice have a conversation with the page.

You might be surprised by what has been waiting to be heard.

🧘 A Moment on the Mat

One of the greatest lessons yoga continues to teach me is that every practice is a new beginning.

Some days the body feels open. Other days it feels tired. Neither is wrong.

Before changing anything, we begin by noticing.

Notice your breath. Notice your body. Notice your thoughts.

Presence always comes before transformation.

This week, before beginning your day, pause for three slow breaths and simply ask yourself:

How can I meet today with kindness?

🍯 Seasonal Table

Whipped Honey Goat Cheese Dip

Last week I brought this dip to a community event celebrating bees, and it was a true hit.

It’s one of those recipes that reminds me how nourishing food doesn’t need to be complicated to be memorable.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz goat cheese
  • 8 oz mascarpone
  • Fresh thyme
  • Fresh rosemary
  • Zest of one lemon
  • Peach smoked datil honey
  • Olive oil
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Fresh cracked black pepper

Whip the cheeses until light and creamy.

Fold in the herbs and lemon zest.

Spread onto a serving plate and drizzle generously with both honeys, olive oil, sea salt, cracked pepper, and a few extra herbs.

Serve with toasted sourdough, crackers, or crisp vegetables.

🕯️ Monthly Ritual

Candle Magic for New Beginnings

As the Leo New Moon approaches, create a quiet space just for yourself.

Light a candle.

Take three slow breaths.

Place your hands around the flame—not close enough to touch, but close enough to feel its warmth.

Ask yourself:

Who am I becoming?

Rather than focusing on what you’d like to leave behind, focus on what you’d like to cultivate.

Speak your intention aloud.

Then allow the candle to burn while you journal, meditate, or simply sit in stillness.

Sometimes the most powerful magic is simply making space to listen.
